Have you been playing for years and never had a good draft? Always walking out of the draft thinking you could have done much better? Or is it your first year playing? Either way, the draft is the most important piece part of having a good team. A poor draft is almost impossible to recover from. Very simply put, information is the key. This article assumes you are using a snake draft.

Many people walk into the draft with to little or way to much paperwork. Multiple cheat sheets or magazines can get confusing and cause you to miss picks and time. There are only four things you need in a draft.

Current Depth Chart
Up to Date Injury Report

As players are chosen, cross them off on your cheat sheet. Highlight players that you have interest in while other teams are drafting. Always have two or three players your interested in as your pick comes. Do not focus on a single player or be disappointed if this player is taken.
Your draft is made in the middle to late rounds. First few rounds are easy to choose players and hope they do not get hurt. Later on in rounds and you've filled up your roster and your not sure who to choose use the depth sheet to take a backup to one of the key running backs.
Know your leagues scoring is very key. Many leagues will focus on Runningbacks early. If you choose not to draft one in the first few rounds you may not get any good ones. Unless Kickers and Defense are heavily weighted, choosing them towards the end of the draft would be better. The top 10 defenses are normally pretty much the same. Plus if you have a short bench and a top kicker/defense you will have to put that player to the limited bench instead of dropping them, for fear someone will take them.
Last rule, do not over drink. One night of partying is not worth a season of suffering and a year of friends harasing you over poor play. Good Luck.
